“Future market indicators looked particularly strong in October,” said KAR president Jon Fort with Arc Real Estate in Garden City. “The number of contracts pending–those accepted but not yet closed–was up 17.2 percent in October compared to the same month last year.”
October 2024 Market Highlights
- Home sales in Kansas rose 5.4% in October 2024 compared to the same period last year. National sales rose with sales rising 2.9% over 2023.
- Home prices continue to increase across the state. The statewide average sale price in October was $319,067 a 6.0% increase compared to last year. Midwest prices rose 7.2% and US prices rose by 4.0%.
- Mortgage rates rose slightly. The national average commitment rate on 30-year conventional mortgage for the week ending November 15, 2024 was 6.84%. View Freddie Mac’s report.
