Kansas REALTORS® are appointed to the State Political Coordinator (SPC) position to maintain relationships with members of the Kansas Legislature to keep them up to date on important REALTOR® issues. SPCs stay in touch with the KAR Advocacy Team, and their legislator in their home districts as well as in the Statehouse to reinforce the Association’s legislative agenda.
While an active and strong effort by lobbyists in Topeka is important, the real power of any industry comes from the activism of its members. Being the largest trade association in the State of Kansas, the Kansas Association of REALTORS® is one of the strongest forces in the Legislature. However, more can be done, and it will take significant grassroots engagement and momentum to reach our full potential in accomplishing our legislative goals. This is where SPCs come in.
