Your privacy is very important to us and we will not sell, share or rent your information to others, except in the ways outlined below. KAR collects this information from our users at several different points on our website in order to verify valid users and KAR is the sole owner of information collected on this website.

This website takes every precaution to protect our users’ information. When you submit sensitive information through the website, your information is protected both online and offline.
A cookie in the internet world is a piece of data that is stored on your hard drive that has some connection to a website that you have visited. It generally contains information about you that makes it easier to have continual and repeated access to that website. It could, for example, store your login information, which would save you time if you try to access a password-protected section of the KAR website. Cookies are pretty standard in the internet industry and a large number of websites currently use them. Cookies also allow KAR to track visits to different areas of the website, which gives us information we need to determine which areas of the website are being accessed and how to improve the website for our members.
However, you can reject cookies and remain absolutely anonymous when you use the website. That may limit your use of the website. In addition, third party vendors may also produce some website services offered by KAR and in some cases these third party vendors may also place cookies on your hard drive. KAR has not control over these cookies.
KAR does not rent, sell or trade your personal information to third parties. We may share aggregated demographic information with our advertisers and partners, but that information is not linked to any personal information that could identify you. On occasion, we partner with our service providers to provide specific services to our members. When you sign up for these services, KAR will share your name and contact information, as necessary, to the third party that provides these services. Third parties are not allowed to use personally identifiable information except for the express purpose of providing these services.
If you wish to subscribe to our association’s communications, we ask for your contact information, such as name and email address. Otherwise, we would not be able to deliver these communications to you.
On occasion, the website may request information from uses via survey research. Participation in any survey research is voluntary and you may choose whether or not to disclose this information simply by not taking the survey.
KAR members have the opportunity to “opt out” of having their information used for purposes not directly related to the website at the point where we ask for the information. If you no longer wish to receive our communications or promotional materials from our service providers, for example, you may opt out of receiving those communications unsubscribing as directed in the communications.
