“Although sales fell in September, the number of pending contracts was up nearly 9 percent compared to the same month last year,” said KAR president Jon Fort with Arc Real Estate in Garden City.
September 2024 Market Highlights
- Home sales in Kansas fell 8.9% in September 2024 compared to the same period last year. National sales fell with sales falling 3.5% over 2023.
- Home prices continue to increase across the state. The statewide average sale price in September was $312,939 a 6.0% increase compared to last year. Midwest prices rose 5.0% and US prices rose by 3.0%.
- Mortgage rates rose slightly. The national average commitment rate on 30-year conventional mortgage for the week ending October 18, 2024 was 6.44%. View Freddie Mac’s report.
