“Average home prices across the state continue to rise,” said KAR president, Steve LaRue with McGrew Real Estate in Lawrence. “Year-to-date the average sale price is up 3.6 percent compared to 2018.”
September 2019 Market Highlights
- Home sales in Kansas rose by 2.1% percent in September 2019 compared to the same period last year. National sales had a increase with sales rising 3.9% over 2018.
- Home prices continue to increase across the state. The statewide average sale price in September was $217,169 a 6.6% increase compared to last year. Midwest prices rose 7.2% and US prices rose 5.9%.
- Mortgage rates fell slightly. The national average commitment rate on 30-year conventional mortgage for the week ending October 18, 2019 was 3.69%. View Freddie Mac’s report.
