Kansas Housing Market Stats – June 2024

“During the first half of the year, typical sale prices across the state are up 6.3 percent compared to the first half of 2023,” said KAR president Jon Fort with Arc Real Estate in Garden City. “In addition, half of all the homes that sold did so in 10 days or less.”

June 2024 Market Highlights

  • Home sales in Kansas fell by 17.8% in June 2024 compared to the same period last year. National sales fell with sales falling 5.4% over 2023.
  • Home prices continue to increase across the state. The statewide average sale price in June was $338,533 a 5.3% increase compared to last year. Midwest prices rose 5.5% and US prices rose by 4.1%.
  • Mortgage rates fell slightly. The national average commitment rate on 30-year conventional mortgage for the week ending July 19, 2024 was 6.77%. View Freddie Mac’s report.
