Kansas Housing Market Stats – June 2022

“Year-to-date, sales across the state are down 5.6 percent compared to the first half of 2021,” said KAR president Andrew Mall with Link Realty in Prairie Village. “The lack of inventory appears to be the primary factor holding back sales this year.”

June 2022 Market Highlights

  • Home sales in Kansas fell by 11.5% in June 2022 compared to the same period last year. National sales fell with sales falling 14.2% over 2021.
  • Home prices continue to increase across the state. The statewide average sale price in June was $310,105 a 14.2% increase compared to last year. Midwest prices rose 10.2% and US prices rose 13.4%.
  • Mortgage rates dropped slightly. The national average commitment rate on 30-year conventional mortgage for the week ending July 15, 2022 was 5.51%. View Freddie Mac’s report.
