“Active listings at the end of January were down 22 percent compared to this time last year,” said KAR president Andrew Mall with Link Realty in Prairie Village. “It continues to be a sellers’ market as we start off 2022.”
January 2022 Market Highlights
- Home sales in Kansas fell by 4.3 percent in January 2022 compared to the same period last year. National sales fell with sales falling 2.3% over 2021.
- Home prices continue to increase across the state. The statewide average sale price in January was $260,366 a 8.0% increase compared to last year. Midwest prices rose 7.8% and US prices rose 15.4%.
- Mortgage rates increased. The national average commitment rate on 30-year conventional mortgage for the week ending February 11, 2022 was 3.92%. View Freddie Mac’s report.
