“Although sales were down slightly in February, we still expect to have a strong spring selling season,” said KAR president, Cindy White with Bill White Real Estate in Independence.

February 2017 Market Highlights

  • Home sales in Kansas declined 5.2% in February, while national home sales rose by 5.4%.
  • Sales prices remain a bright spot. The average sale price in Kansas was $183,365 in February – a 6.8% increase over last year. This follows the national trend of rising home prices.
  • The national average commitment rate on 30-year conventional mortgage for the week ending March 16, 2017 was 4.21%. A year ago at this time the rate was 3.73. View Freddie Mac’s report.
