“Thanks to the strong December numbers, total home sales for the year ended up 0.6 percent higher than 2018,” said KAR president, Marsha McConnell with Plaza Astle Realty in Hutchinson.
December 2019 Market Highlights
- Home sales in Kansas rose by 12.6% percent in December 2019 compared to the same period last year. National sales had a increase with sales rising 10.8% over 2018.
- Home prices continue to increase across the state. The statewide average sale price in December was $218,076 a 6.1% increase compared to last year. Midwest prices rose 9.2% and US prices rose 7.8%.
- Mortgage rates fell slightly. The national average commitment rate on 30-year conventional mortgage for the week ending January 17, 2020 was 3.60%. View Freddie Mac’s report.
