All the numbers have been tallied, and the 2023 KAR Annual Conference was a great event!! We had 333 people registered for our event. Record-breaking turnout for a great new location at the Hilton Garden Inn in Manhattan, KS.
Want to make sure to say a special Congratulations to Jon Fort, who was installed as the 2024 KAR President. We are looking forward to a great year under your leadership.
In conjunction with the Annual Conference, we had a day of NAR’s Riding with the Brand. Attendees had a chance to tour the Riding with the Brand bus and see the motorcycle in person. They also could hear NAR’s Immediate Past President, Leslie Rouda Smith, speak.
As in past years, we continued to partner with the Food Recovery Network. We donated 234 pounds of surplus food, equivalent to 195 meals, from the Conference. These donations benefitted two different organizations, Manhattan Emergency Shelter, Inc. and BeAble, both of which provide services for community members in Manhattan, Kansas, including temporary housing, meals, and access to a variety of essential resources.
We also continued our partnership with Harvesters. Over just the few days of the conference, we were about to collect 1121 lbs of food/hygiene supplies! Thank you to everyone who brought something to donate. We appreciate the continued support of our members for this partnership.
