KAR 2015 Executive Committee

Thanks to all that attended the Kansas Association of REALTORS® Annual Conference and Education Expo last week. Nearly 300 REALTORS® from across the state came together over three days to network with other REALTORS®, gain new knowledge on legislative issues and participate in cutting-edge professional development opportunities.

During the conference, we had the pleasure of installing our 2016 officers and the many other leaders who will serve the association on the Executive Committee and as Chairs and Vice Chairs on other important committees. Our 2016 officers include:
– 2016 President Deborah McMullen (Lawrence)
– 2016 President-Elect Cindy White (Independence)
– 2016 First Vice President/Treasurer Kathy Minden (Paola)
– 2016 Immediate Past President Todd Woodburn (Wichita)

During the installation and awards banquet, we were also excited to announce our award winners in 2016, including the following:
– Distinguished Service Award – Carol Mangan (Coffeyville)
– Archie Lieben Award – John McKenzie (Wichita)
– REALTOR® of the Year Award – Sheila Schwalm (Hiawatha)
– President’s Award to an Outstanding Affiliate Member – Craig Burns of Security 1st Title

We also had the opportunity to congratulate our CEO Karen Gehle with a special presentation, who was recognized for her commitment and leadership of our association for the past 20 years.

Over the course of the conference, Kansas REALTORS® raised over $15,000 for the REALTORS® PAC to help defend the real estate industry from negative attacks and promote the value of property ownership in Congress and the Kansas Legislature.

Thanks to all REALTORS® who made the Annual Conference and Education Expo such a successful event. We hope to see you at our upcoming 2016 Capitol Conference in Topeka from February 9-11, 2016.
