3. Complete the Kansas Broker Management Course. $230/$260
4. Complete a fingerprint Background Check. $60
5. Request a License History Certification for real estate licenses held outside Kansas.
6. Submit a Kansas Real Estate Commission Non-Resident Form, if applicable.

Broker Pre-License – Course Information
To obtain a Kansas Broker’s License if licensed in another state (in the order we recommend)
1. Order the Kansas Broker Law Course – 4-Hour Combination Home-Study and Online Format. $70. Course materials will be mailed, and the online exam link will be emailed. Review the textbook and course materials at your own pace. Complete the open-book online exam; download and print your certificate upon achieving a passing score of 90%. If your score is not 90%, you will get additional attempts to retake the exam. The certificate is valid for 6 months, which means you must pass the State Exam within 6 months.
2. Complete the Pearson VUE Test Center Client Waiver Request Form requesting a National portion waiver. After receiving confirmation from Pearson VUE, schedule a Licensing Exam. $82, retake exams $75. You must pass the State portion of the Kansas Broker Licensing Exam within 6 months of your Kansas Broker Law Course certificate date. Pass the timed and closed-book exam with a score of 70%. When you pass the exam, a score report is issued, and your score report is valid for 6 months. The application process must be completed within this six-month period, or you must restart the process.

3. Order the Kansas Real Estate Broker Management Course – 30-Hour Combination Home-Study and Virtual Format. $230 (KAR Members), $260 (Non-Members). Review the textbook at your own pace. Participate in the Zoom session. Complete an online exam. Upon achieving a passing score of 90% on the online exam, download and print your certificate. If your score is not 90%, you have additional attempts to retake the exam. This certificate is valid for 6 months.

4. Complete a fingerprint KBI/FBI Criminal Background Check according to the instructions in the mailed materials. $60. Fingerprinting can be obtained at your local Police Station, Sheriff’s Office, some UPS Stores, or other fingerprinting services. Ink and Digital prints are accepted. Your background check is valid for 6 months.
5. Request a License History Certification for all real estate licenses ever held in any state other than Kansas. Broker Experience Pages and the Broker Transaction Log must be completed.
6. Submit a Kansas Real Estate Commission Non-Resident Form REL-110, if applicable.
