The 2009 Business Plan for the Kansas Association of REALTORS® creates new knowledge for Kansas REALTORS®. The KAR Vision Team, Executive Committee and Officers created the Association's business objectives with the purpose of assisting Kansas REALTORS® during the fluctuating market. Highlights of the plan include:
Strengthening the REALTOR® Community. The Association will work to strengthen the REALTOR® family, and increase the flow of information and community between members.
BENEFIT: KAR will continue to improve its new website as it becomes the primary avenue of communications, culture and feedback.
BENEFIT: KAR will market and enhance the new Kansas REALTOR® Family website, which will feature member-generated videos that reflect personal, community and professional elements of members' lives.
Coordinating with the National Library/Archive Project. The Association will keep our members informed and involved in the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS®' Library/Archive Project, in order to position them for success in this new initiative.
BENEFIT: KAR will keep our members informed of NAR's plans for the national property database, and how it will affect Kansas REALTORS®.
BENEFIT: KAR will attempt to have a voice in the creation and decision making process of the Library/Archive, allowing our members to gain business opportunities when possible and ensure the program actually benefits Kansas REALTORS®.
Re-engineering Member Services. KAR will create a membership package designed to meet the needs of members who are motivated to "raise the bar" of their real estate practices, and real estate in general, in Kansas.
BENEFIT: KAR will design and develop service packages, as indicated through membership surveys.
BENEFIT: KAR will consider a "credentialing" program to assist members with increasing their professionalism.
Governmental Affairs. KAR will coordinate the efforts of its Governmental Affairs staff and volunteers to meet the challenges of the new legislative and regulatory environment.
BENEFIT: KAR will assist Local Associations to raise RPAC dollars with fund-raising campaign programs that Boards can adopt.
BENEFIT: KAR will develop a political talking points system for common issues. These will include scripts, posts, and other communications.
Other Priorities. The Association will work on a number of other ongoing projects during the year.
BENEFIT: KAR will add to its new member "quick start" video program focused on best practices.
BENEFIT: KAR will distribute a statewide market performance review with analysis.
